How do I watch a forum or thread or user?

When you watch a forum or thread or user, the forum system will keep track of new activity for you. You can choose how you want to learn of this new activity.

Forums

To watch a forum, go to that forum and click Watch Forum in the top right. In the pop-up, indicate whether or not you want to be notified of new threads in that forum, and how you want to be notified.

To see what's new in your watched forums, click Watched Forums in the top-of-page toolbar.

To stop watching a forum, go to that forum, click Unwatch Forum in the top right, then confirm in the pop-up. You can also stop watching a forum or change your watched forum options by selecting it in the Watched Forums display and selecting a choice from the drop-down menu below the list.

Threads

To watch a thread, go to that thread and click Watch Thread in the top right. In the pop-up, indicate whether or not you want to be notified by email of new posts in that thread.

To see what's new in your watched threads, click Watched Threads in the top-of-page toolbar. Click "Show all watched threads" to include threads with no new posts.

To stop watching a thread, go to that forum, click Unwatch Thread in the top right, then confirm in the pop-up. You can also stop watching a thread or change your watched thread options by selecting it in the Watched Threads display and selecting a choice from the drop-down menu below the list.

Other ways to watch for new threads and posts:

• Click New Posts in the top-of-page toolbar.
• Click History in the top-of-page toolbar and view the Last Message times.
• Visit a particular forum and view the Last Message times.

Users

To follow a user, select People You Follow from the menu under your username at the top of the page. Fill in their username after the Follow: prompt, then click Save Changes.

To see activity by your followed users, select Your News Feed from the menu under your username at the top of the page.

To stop following a user, select People You Follow from the menu under your username at the top of the page. Click the Unfollow button next to their username.
